Ryan and I are headed to Stevens Point for Thanksgiving! We celebrate at my sister's house every year. This year I was in charge of bringing pumpkin pie. I've never made pumpkin pie before but figured it wouldn't be that hard. I consulted my favorite recipe website, allrecipes.com, and found an "easy" recipe. It was easy but it didn't turn out! I don't really know what I could have done wrong, but I sure am happy I decided to try and make the pies the night before!
It was around 8:00 when I figured out that these pies were not good at all and needed a plan B. I went to Copps but they had NO pumpkin pies, not even frozen ones! My guess is they were out since they were selling them for $2.99 this week. So I headed a little further away from home to my beloved Festival Foods and bought one pre-baked pie for $9 and a frozen pie for $5. I figured I'd be safe getting one of each because one of them is bound to taste good!
And now for a list of things I'm thankful for:
1. Ryan. And I will marry him next year!!!
2. My family...parents, siblings, nephews, brother-in-laws and soon to be in-laws!
3. Lily (that would be my parents dog)
4. The house we live in and the price we pay for it (less than our apartment)
5. My health. It's not great, but I don't have any major medical issues so I am thankful for that!
6. Having a reliable car. I've had it for 3.5 years and it has only had to be in the shop once!
What are you thankful for?
